Can I bring my own phone?

SafeLink offers a BYOP compatibility check by texting BYOP to 611611. Confirm the exact device and availability with SafeLink; an unlocked phone is not automatically compatible with every network or offer.

Will I receive a free phone?

A device is not guaranteed by Lifeline. SafeLink shows available device and SIM choices after checking your area and offer. Review the current terms before you enroll.

Can I keep my phone number?

SafeLink lists PORTIN at 611611 for bringing an existing number. Keep the prior service active until the transfer is complete, and obtain the account details the provider asks for.

How do I install or replace a SIM?

Text SIM to 611611 for installation guidance. For a different phone, TRANSFER provides instructions to move your mobile number to a new device. SafeLink support can help with lost or damaged SIMs.

Does eSIM work?

Support depends on the device and current SafeLink enrollment options. Ask SafeLink about your specific phone before assuming eSIM is available.
